Mr.& Mrs.Jesse D (Sandy) LOCKETT

why? Why him? Why her? Why now? Why us? You and I both know I cannot answer that question. Only God knows the reasons behind His actions.
But a key truth on which we can stand is this—our God is a good God! Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the LORD is good.” God is a good God. We must begin here. Though we don't understand His actions, we can trust His heart!

I only spoke to Dorothy once a few years ago. I'm so sorry I didn't get to know her better. This is my loss and to loose another family member hurts more. My condolences to my long distance family.

A candle in memory of a quiet giant. Family know that I am here for you just a call away. Dorothy will be missed for she was the peace maker, did not like a lot of confusion. "Weeping will endure for a night but joy will come in the morning" Love

Death, be not proud
Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

Sorry to see another one of my classmates from Academy to pass away. My sincere sympathies to her family. She was a very sweet classmate and is safely in our Lord's arms.

In my 30+ years in Erie, I worked several times with Dorothy on community projects...she brought "heart and hope" to many people. Erie has lost a well-grounded and valuable community leader. Go placidly amid the noise and haste my friend, John Nesbit/WashingtonPA

To the Keys & Lockett family: Ms. Dorothy worked at Erie I when I was a child. It is through her hard work, effort and dedication that I am the woman that I am.
Along with Mr. Denny and Ms. Chag Johnson, she helped to plant seeds of greatness inside all of the youth who were blessed to be a part of Erie I.
My thoughts and prayers are extended to you. May God comfort you now and in the future.

I extend my condolences to the entire Lockett Family. Dorothy was my Boss At BTW. She will be missed. Her laugh was infectious, it made you laugh too! Monique it's ok to let someone else be "The Rock". Daniell, Jesse, Marc and Monique. Lean on one another and the Lord through this difficult time. Love one another.When you look at each other, see your Mother there. Let the moments you shared together warm your heart and bring a smile to your face. She lives through those special memories. Love to you all!

To the Lockett Family,
Ms. Dorthy was what you call a "Pillar" in the Erie community.
Her leadership, yet sterness approach, gave her the ability to uplift young women and allow them the opportunity to purchase their own home.
She will always be known to me as a powerful woman.
With due respect,
Panchitta Robinson (Gaines)

When I am dead, my dearest
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.
I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.
