Elise McEldowney Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter Elise McEldowney. Elise passed away on July 27, 2021, after a brief illness. Elise was born on January 17, 2004, to parents Amy and Jim McEldowney, of Edinboro, Pa.

Elise loved to spend time with her family and her dog, Luna. She enjoyed baking for her family as well as watching her favorite cooking and home improvement shows. Elise loved family beach vacations and hanging out with her friends. She was very creative and loved arts and crafts. Elise lived out her faith in Jesus Christ in the kind way she treated others.

Elise was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Bill and Connie Volgstadt of Erie, and paternal grandparents, Bill and Wanda McEldowney of Wheeling, W. Va.

She is survived by her parents, Jim and Amy, and brothers Jacob and Luke. She is further survived by her aunts and uncles: Steve and Genny Volgstadt, Jim and Richelle Volgstadt, Debbie McEldowney and Amanda Miller, Sharon and Tim Merryman, and Pam and Craig Patterson; and her cousins Emily, Lisa, Billy, Bryce and Courtney, as well as many close friends.

Elise's family will receive friends at McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Rd., Edinboro, Pa., on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2-5 p.m., followed by a memorial celebration at 5 p.m. Van Matre Funeral Home of Edinboro has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements and condolences may be shared at www.vanmatrefuneralhome.com.

My deepest sympathy for the unimaginable passing of your precious little girl. Richard & I, Kathy, remember Jim well from the YMCA & at the family reunions as well as Amy & Bill & Connie. In case you don't know, Richard passed away on December 2, 2017 at home with hospice after the surgery & death from a glioblastoma brain tumor. I truly can't imagine trying to go on after one of your children passes & had an entire life to live taken away.
Sincerely,
Kathy Volgstadt
