Eric Hartman Obituary
Eric D. Hartman, 39, of Greene Township, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his residence. A resident of Erie all of his life he was born May 8, 1974 a son of Rickie Olson Toddy and Floyd R. "Joe" Hartman.
Eric attended Central High School and went on to work as a welder for APW and Ridge U Rack. Most recently he worked with Erie County Vo-Tech as an adult education teacher and with G.E. He attended West Greene Community Church and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and restoring trucks. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Vincent James Hartman; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his stepfather, John Toddy; and his father-in-law, Kenneth Sands.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 12 years, Kristie Sands Hartman; two sons, Robert K. Sands and Xane A. Hartman, both at home; one daughter, Mickaila B. Sands at home; two sisters, Stephanie Goodwin and her husband Jay of Erie and Tammy Hartman of Ashtabula, Ohio; three brothers, Richard Hartman and his wife Kim of Erie, Tom Toddy of Pittsburgh, and Tim Toddy of Florida; his stepmother, Cindy Freleigh of Erie; his mother-in-law, Corinne "Corkie" Harvey Sands of Greene Township; two sisters-in-law, Kerrie Parkhurst and her husband Paul of Erie and Kimberlie Sands of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
At Eric's request, friends may dress casually and call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are invited to funeral services there on Monday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

I will always remember our last visit together on your birthday. It was so nice to just sit with you and chit chat. Just enjoying each others company. I will miss you being there, you were always there for me as you were for countless others. You loved big. You're heart was always open to helping others.
