Francis Armezzani Obituary

Francis J. Armezzani, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Manchester Commons in Erie, Pa.

He was born in Jessup, Pa. on December 18, 1928, a son of the late Amerigo and Michelina (Silvestri) Armezzani.

Francis was a graduate of Jessup High School and a Member of Queen of Angels Parish and St Mary's Assumption Church. He worked his entire life, starting at an early age in the coal mines in Scranton, and then Remington Arms in Bridgeport, Conn. and Chrysler Corporation in Eynon, Pa. He was a well-known finishing contractor, specializing in wallpaper and paint, leading him and his wife to become the proud owners and operators of the New Select Wallpaper and Paint Store in Olyphant, Pa.

Francis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was generous and kind and always willing to lend a hand to help family, friends and neighbors. His home was the family hub and his happiest moments were when he was with his wife, children, grandchildren and family. He was a skilled fisherman and consummate craftsman. He loved to travel with his wife, family and friends, especially lifelong friends, Mickey and Ada Mazza.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances (Lupini) Armezzani, the light of his life, and brother, Louis Armezzani.

Francis is survived by his son, Gregg Armezzani, wife Lucy of Endwell, N.Y.; daughter, Nancy Sennett, husband Timothy of Erie; grandchildren Krista Esken, husband Bryan, Maura Armezzani, fiancé Jonathan Collins, Christopher Sennett and Caryn Decker, husband Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Olivia Esken and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Francis' family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Manchester Commons for their loving care of Francis over the past several years.

Due to COVID restrictions, services were private with burial at St. John's Cemetery in Jessup.

A memorial service and gathering in honor of Francis' life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Alzheimer's Association 1600 Peninsula Drive, Suite 15, Erie, PA 16505.

Francis, like your Mom were wonderful neighbors. Always happy to see them. My parents had good stories to share about their rides together when I lived in Erie. Although missed I am sure they are joyfully reunited and will continue to watch over you. May your many happy memories be of comfort.
Sincerely,
Debbie Alunni

Rest in Peace Mr. Armezzani.
My deepest sympathy to all the family. As soon as I saw his photo, I thought that's Mr. Armezzani from the wallpaper store in Olyphant. Both Mr & Mrs Armezzanni were kind, helpful, wonderful people. God Bless you all. Sincerely,

Gary Broad

Greg & Family.
Seeing your dad's obituary in the paper brought back many good memories of him, your mom and you from the Gold Dust days. The years sure have gone by fast. I reminisced how I often stopped in their store, as they were my go to people for paint and wallpaper. They always gave me their undivided time and guidance. I had the utmost respect for them both and valued their friendship. You will be in my prayers that God will give you comfort during this tough time in life. Take Care Old Friend.
