Gregory Sieber Obituary

Gregory Scott Sieber, age 54, of Millcreek, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at his residence following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Erie on March 13, 1956, the son of the late Herman and Edith Wallace Sieber. He was a 1974 graduate of McDowell High School and then went on to graduate from Penn State Behrend in 1979. Greg worked as an Assistant Controller at McCarty Printing Corp. for over 30 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was an usher for many years. He loved dirt track racing, car modeling and his flower gardens. Greg was an avid bowler where he was the Secretary of his league and bowled at the Siebenbuerger Club. He coached youth basketball at St. Pauls Lutheran Church and also MYAA softball. Greg was also an avid New York Yankees Fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Greg is survived by his wife of 28 years, Wendy Heath Sieber, his daughter Susan Sieber, two sons; Tim and Greg Sieber all of Erie, and a family friend Nate Eisert. He will also be missed by his three dogs Shadow, Pheobe and Max. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1002 Powell Ave. Erie, PA 16505 on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center 2500 W. 12th Street Erie, PA 16505 or to Great Lakes Home Health Care 1700 Peach Street Erie, PA 16501.

Greg was my "big brother" since 1974. I will remember the good times - all the talking and his help with my problems. I was so busy with my Mother's sickness and her passing away that I didn't know Greg was sick until I saw the obituary. Wendy and the children are in my thoughts and prayers.

New greg for a long time from the time I spent working for his dad in the secuirty bussines and at South Erie where he bowled. May God watch over his family in thier time need.

My cousin Greg is one of the nicest guys in the world. Never hurt anyone...Took good care of his family and loved them very much. Excellent employee, had great work ethic..very honest and really cared. He will be greatly missed. He went to fast...to young.
