Harry Lauer Obituary
Mac was a machinist at National Fab and Machine in North East and Erie Mill and Press. He enjoyed target practice, cooking, fishing, stain glass work, gardening, bowling, bird watching and classic cars. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loud music.
Mac is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Raid Lauer; three daughters, Leah Nicoara (John), Shannon Cilluffo (David), and Tamra Sonney (Kyle); a close friend, William Skopow; numerous grandchildren; his in-laws, and Ebensburg cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by an infant son, William Paul.
Mac's family would like to thank the nurses at UPMC Home Healthcare and the Family Hospice Team, who were there for Mac and his family, especially Denny Seth and Virginia Lopez. Their help and support made this transition easier.
No calling hours will be held. A private burial will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501, or the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd.

I am sorry to hear of Mac`s passing. I was one of Mac`s co-workers at Erie Mill & Press. He was always willing to lend a hand or offer advice about anything. We often shared our knowledge of vegetable gardening. He didn`t even mind that I am a lifelong Browns fan. My sincere condolences to his family.

Our deepest sympathy to all the Lauer family. We will be holding you in our hearts and prayers through these difficult days. Over the many years that Mac has been a part of our lives, we have known him as a sincere, kind, and hard-working man with a humble spirit and big heart. He was always generous to give of his time and talents (which were many) which will be forever remembered and appreciated. Mac always had a positive outlook, even as this illness weighed upon him. He was a devoted husband and father readily sharing his love and pride for you all. He will be missed by many.

Dear Carolyn,
I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear husband. I'll never forget how happy you were, showing me your wedding pictures at our class reunion. It was the best part of that reunion. Your joy was so real! I'm glad you had 25 yrs with Mac and I'm sorry it wasn't longer. You're in my prayers as you live through your grief. Mac was a good man. I remember him from the bowling alley long ago.
