My condolences to Aunt Herma's family, as she was a wonderful person. While I had not seen her in person in a very long time, we corresponded with each other, keeping each other up on our respective families. Herman was mom's sister-n-law, but really was her friend and more of a sister. I know they are seeing each other again now.
One of the main things that has stuck in my memory about Aunt Herma, other than producing a wonderful large family, is her ability to make someone she did not see much feel at home. We came to visit at the Tarbell house every couple years, and each time we visited, she made sure to have food we all liked. I specifically remember her making some pancakes for me and Bruce one morning which made me feel very welcome.
Another thing I remember about Aunt Herma is that she was very accepting and kind to everyone. I could always see why see and mom got along so well, as they were peas in a pod.
Last, as noted in the obituary, she loved to travel. That is how I would see her and Uncle Neil,as they would stop by Louisville on their way to/from Texas or wherever. She and Uncle Neil would take the scenic route, taking advantage of whatever came to pass. I loved hearing about their travels. Now she is with Uncle Neil, on the ultimate trip.
I will always remember Aunt Herma.
Love,thoughts and prayers,
John

Our Condolence to the family of Herma Tarbell; Herma was a very special lady. She was the last member of the Class of 1939 from Union City High School. We are so glad we were able to meet her a few years ago at our Homecoming Banquet.
