Jean A. LaCastro

1922 - 2017

Jean A. LaCastro, age 94, of Millcreek, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Fairview, on April 20, 1922.

Jean was the treasurer for the LaCastro Plastics Company. She was a member of St. George Church. A very loving mother and grandmother, Jean was a beautifully devout Catholic who was inspirational in keeping alive the devotion to praying the rosary. She taught children in the Catholic Schools how to make rosaries. She was also a singer for many years and a member of the Blue Army.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Anthony L. LaCastro, Sr., the Founder and CEO of LaCastro Plastics, who died in 1993. Her mother, Anna Orloff, seven brothers and sisters, a sister-in-law, Violet Rose LaCastro, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis ad Geraldine LaCastro.

Survivors include her children, Edward A. LaCastro, wife Patty, of Albion, Anthony L. LaCastro, wife Ruthann, of Waterford, and Diane M. LaCastro, 13 grandchildren, Maria, Anthony III, Edward Jr., Christian, Matthew, Meghan, Michael, Molly, Angela, Jonathan, Rebecca, Barry, and Genevieve, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, many nieces and nephews, and her wonderful caregiver, Elizabeth Otero.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd. Services will be held there on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. George Church at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
