John Cianella Obituary
John was employed at American Sterilizer, starting in 1962, where he eventually became Director of Information Systems. In 2000, he was promoted to Vice President of Information Systems at Steris in Mentor, Ohio. He retired in December 2004.
John was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church since its inception. He was an avid reader, enjoyed computers and technology, was a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan, attending Spring training many times in Good Year, Ariz., and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife Susan Tautin Cianella, four children: John, Joseph, Julie (Bethany), Jason (Amanda), one sister Adele Cianella Bethune (Douglas), six grandchildren: Joseph, Nicholas, Paige, Hannah, Sadie Jane, Derek John, and a great-granddaughter Viviana, one niece, and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and are invited to a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be held
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Soup Kitchen, 218 East 11th Street, Erie, PA 16503, or to St. Paul's Free Clinic, 1608 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502.

Dear Susan,
I was just talking about John yesterday to some individuals here at STERIS. I cannot believe it is now a year ago that we had to say goodbye. I thought you may want to know he is still in our hearts and alive in our conversations at a place he worked for so long!

Dear Susan and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. He was a great man and lived a good life. He cared deeply for his family and had great faith. My husband and I are so sorry that we could not be there to ease you in this time of loss. I have many great memories and truly believe that we share many values which cycles back to the core of the Pellegrinelli family. I cherish those times and am thankful to have shared that bond. Take care of yourselves and know that he is in God's hands and at peace. Be aware that he is still present and with you. Be open for the signs, it helps to ease the burden of loss.

John lived a few doors away from me in Erie when we were boys. We never spent much time together, but I remember him as a friendly boy, neatly dressed when we went to school. I still have that image of him in my mind. RIP

We were at the mass when John went home to God. Although we did not know him, tears filled our eyes and we were deeply saddened. God bless his family and we send our most heartfelt sorrows to them.
