Joyce Marie Pyle Hobbs

Edinboro Joyce M. Hobbs died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was born on January 16, 1935 in Erie, Pa., daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Rose Elizabeth Balsinger Pyle. Joyce loved playing slots, knitting, and playing cards. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Drakes Mills. Joyce was a member of the Eastern Star for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard "Dick" Hobbs; two brothers, Robert and James Pyle; four sisters, Berdina Williams, Evelyn DelPorto, Lois Pyle, and Carol Moorehead; and her granddaughter, Angela Stearns Hobbs. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, James F. Hobbs of Edinboro; son, "Skeeter" Hobbs and his wife Cindra of Edinboro; daughters, Debora Bull (Bernie Oster) of Edinboro; Laura "Lori" Sloan of Tidioute; and Jean Hobbs (Chris Gebhardt) of Edinboro; one brother, John Pyle of Fairview; two sisters, Helen Bonnet and her husband Ike of Girard; and Marilyn Bannister of McKean; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Crystal, Matthew, Katelynn, Brandi, and Aaron; four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Nolan, Branden, and Gage; and her two great-granddogs, Indiana and Honey. Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Edinboro Cemetery.
