The other day while shopping I came across a picture frame that had "buddies" written on it. Everytime I see, hear, or think of that word is makes me smile picturing Jake sitting on the couch while I screamed my head off to mom or Angela, and him just sitting there patiently saying "buddiiiess". :)

It has been 2 months since you went with Jesus. We think of you constantly and miss you and are very sad. When you left a part of us left with you.

To the Boyle family;

I’m deeply sorry to hear about Jake. I played baseball with him during the summer up in Connecticut. Jake’s energy was infectious, and while we only spent a few months together I remember admiring him for truly enjoying where he was – he was a part of a core group of guys that made that summer one of my most memorable.

To The Boyle Family,
I was deeply sadden on Friday to hear from my brother the head baseball coach at Western Ct State University. After playing Penn St. Behrend, that my former player Jake had passed away. Jake played for me the summer of 2001 with the Eastern Tides of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. The first day I meet Jake I knew he was a special kid. Jake was an intricate part of the success of the 2001 Tides and helping us to the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. I can recall probably the biggest hit of the season Jake on a rainy night in extra innings of a tie game hit a walk-off home run to push us towards the playoffs.

7/17/01 CONCORD 1 AT EASTERN 2 (EXTRA INNINGS)
HR--J.Boyle (1).

I was in Oklahoma when I heard the news my team was getting ready to play Oklahoma State. They were the 14th ranked team in the country at the time and one of the biggest opportunities for the University of Hartford, where I am coaching now. So hearing the news I recalled that summer, Jake and what special kid he was. We won the game on Friday 8-4, the first time in our schools history that a baseball team at Hartford had beaten a ranked opponent. I am sure Jake was there with me in some way or another helping us. I am deeply sorry for your loss, even though I only got a chance to coach Jake for a few months it was a TRUE HONOR AND A PRIVILEGE to coach a player with that much grit, determination and love for the game. When I found out later in the fall that he had surgery after our season together, I called Jake. I asked him if he knew going in to the season and he said yes. I asked why did you come and play he said “ I didn’t to miss out on great experience” After that talk, I knew I had coached a special kid. Again I am deeply sadden for your loss. Even though he only played for me for a few months he will always be remembered and respected.
My Sincerest
Condolences,
Mike Susi

the Eastern Tides

Tammy, Angela,Yvonne, Gary and Ryan,
I think about Jake constantly...whenever I see a young man, watch a sports game, travel through Charlotte....he comes into my thoughts often, as do all of you. I know you are all missing him so much and I hope knowing that little prayers and happy thoughts are sent your way often by so many people will give you a little comfort.

I met Jake thru my son Andy, both went to Behrend. He was always so at ease except at the 4th of July sporting events at Andy&Leslie's house. You all know what a competitor he was!Jake was my favorite computer guy. It seemed like every time he would come to my house I would ask him about a problem I was having and he would say o.k. and fix it for me.I can tell Jake's attitude has rubbed off on his friends because they are fine young gentlemen just like Jake.I still have your email site, I wonder if it will reach you in heaven!

What an amazing guy Jake was. In events like this it makes you question God and say why or how could you take someone so special and so caring off this earth. As we all know Heaven is a much better place and it is hard not to be selfish, because if things were our way we would keep our loved ones with us forever. Jake is no doubt in a much better place where there is no suffering and he can be in peace always. I knew Jake through my brother Andy Jaglowski and only hanging out with him through Andy I got to know what a wonderful man he was and I also got the pleasure of having him escort me down the aisle for Andy's wedding. From the little time I did spend with him I was able to know what an extraordinary guy he was and how lucky Andy, myself and anyone who did know him or meet him is because he was one in a million. He had a place here on Earth and he brought great joy to many people. Angela you are a great person and words can't describe what a loss this is, but you are a strong individual and time will ease the pain. One thing about the 2 of you as a couple was that you guys could always bring a smile to anyone's face. To the parents/family of Jake Boyle: you all should be forever proud beacuse you helped shape this individual to the gentleman that he was. I know he is watching over us all to see that we lead our lives in the right path so we will meet him again in Heaven. It was an honor to have known Jake.

Tammy, Angela, Mr. and Mrs. Boyle, and Ryan: I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll always remember going to the farm when Jake was about 10 years old and seeing him back his parents car out of the garage! I did a double take to see this little kid so expertly driving a car! And he acted like it was just another day on the farm...which I guess it was. One of the best memories (in my life!) was going to CT with Tammy to watch Jake play semi-pro baseball and seeing him hit the ball over the fence to help his team win the game in overtime! Awesome! God bless Jake!

Angela and Jake's family,

This is Andy Jaglowski's older sister Tammy. I wanted to write to give you my deepest sympathies on your loss of Jake. He was a wonderful person. I had only seen him a few times with Andy, but every time, he was so welcoming and friendly. He will be truly missed. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I'm sure Jake is watching over everyone from heaven and at peace. Please let Andy know if there is anything I can do for you.

Although I didn't meet Jake until Rubbermaid, we both grew up near Meadville, PA, so it was fun to talk about home with him. Jake was always easy to relate to. He seemed to me a strong and genuine person, always positive and kind. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Jake

Hey fella. Its one week later and the grief is still strong. Memories of you are very present in my thoughts as I try to make sense of it all. And in dealing with the pain, I wanted to remind you of how special you were to me. I was lucky in this life to be able to call you one of my closest friends and even more blessed that you gave me an opportunity to be a part of your life. You were truly a humble and caring person that was welcoming with everyone you encountered. The character and values you displayed as a person and friend have made me and will continue to make me a better person. I know you will be there with me as I continue in this life and you can guarantee I will be asking you for your help. I will never forget the experiences and memories that shaped our friendship. I look forward to meeting you again and when we do you can expect one of my uncomfortable man hugs that you enjoyed so much.

I love you,
Jags

Although I did not have the priviledge of knowing Jake on a personal level, it is quite obvious that he carried himself in life as he did on the baseball diamond. I was fortunate enough to compete against Jake for two years in many classic PSU-Behrend vs. UPB battles. When I think of Jake Boyle, I think of a true competitor and leader who was a class act; There was No Tougher OUT in the AMCC conference. My greatest sympathy goes out to Jake's family, friends, and the many people whose lives he has impacted.

Jake was the best friend and teammate that you could ever ask for. He was someone who I admired and looked up to, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have known him for all these years. Jake was a great teammate, roomate and friend. When I hear the name Jake Boyle, I think "Most intimidating collegiate baseball hitter I have ever seen step into a batters box". Most impressively, Jake was a leader of leaders and the true definition of character. Jake inspired me by just being Jake. His legend will inspire all that knew him forever. Vonnie,
I always felt you were a great person and friend, and I am saddened about hearing that your son had passed away. When I first came to work at Seneca High School, I remember you taking a maternity leave to have him.
Anyway, I was shocked to find out that Justin has passed due to brain cancer. How ironic since you had already lived through this with your son-in-law! I can totally understand your pain since my stepmom (that I loved dearly) passed last year of ovarian cancer. My sister had passed over in 1987 with the same disease. How strange and ironic are the things that occur in our lives especially to the people in families who are not even related by blood.
Please know that I am thinking about you and praying for you. I'm so sorry that this happened to your son.

Take care of yourself,
Joan Rudenski

Angela, Gary, Yvonne, Tammy, Ryan, Grandma Betty and all of your family members,

I am still in disbelief and can't even believe that I am sitting here writing this message to all of you.

When I think of all of the memories I hold in my heart there are very few that do not include Jake. I am so blessed to have had so many years with Jake and have looked to him for support and guidance, as he was always the level-headed one who knew just the right things to say.

I admire his humility most of all, because he never wanted anyone to worry about him or his life. He was more interested in making sure that his friends and family were happy and enjoying life.

Angela, I remember the grin on his face when he first pointed you out and told me that this is the girl he'd been so lucky to date! You made him so happy and he was fortunate to have such an understanding woman to love him unconditionally as we all did. Thank you for the joy you brought to him- he adored you and dreaded the thought of this moment ever happening.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and everyone who is grieving over our loss. Sadly, we have lost one of our finest.

The Boyle Family

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Jake was a great friend, person and athlete. I will charish the memories that I have of him. I am glad that I had the pleasure of knowing him while at Behrend. He could bring a smile to anyone's face and make anyone feel they were his friend. The world is minus one extraordinary man. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
