My deepest sympathy to you all. I remember Mrs. Williams fondly – her accent, her cheerfulness. Her concern for her family. Her calmness in the chaos of a large family. She created a warm & loving home and I’ve always admired and remembered that warmth. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

As I sit here, pondering what to write, memories flash by of times, not so very long ago. Mable sitting at the kitchen table, in her "spot", newspaper laying in front of her. The phone ringing, near the stove, and her getting up to answer it. Her arms full of laundry, from all the children, as we played downstairs in the basement. Her letting Karl know, that the dog had to go out, after we got home from school. And, her actually allowing me to play her organ, such as it was. Then, forever the teacher, trying to show me, an always impatient teenager, some rudimentary keyboarding. I remember, "I don't want you boys out all night, and stay out of trouble", as best as can be told to late-teen boys. And yet you could tell, she knew there would be some sort of mischief; her sons were Karles' boys! Holidays, and as we got older, Manhattans. And again, Mable would remind us, "I don't want you guys out all night....".

At a time in my life, when my own family seemed long lost, Mables', and Karles' house, not only helped provide a home, but a family, where their love, values and guidance were, and will continue to be, one of the treasured memories in my life. So, it is with the greatest respect, and the deepest sympathy, that I offer my condolences to the Mable and Karle Williams family.
