Marion Degner Obituary

Marion Clark McLaughlin Degner Marion Clark McLaughlin Degner, 81, died Mon., Nov. 27, 2006 at Presque Isle Nursing and Rehabilitation. Formerly of 1429 Wana Dr. She was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Sykesville, Pa., daughter of the late Howard and Lilly Null Clark. She was a 1944 graduate of Sykesville High School, Sykesville, Pa. She worked for The Plastek Group retiring in 1993 with 15 years service. She had also worked for Sylvania, Erie Technological Products, Crawford Plastic, Yoder Brothers, and Buffalo Molded Plastics. She was a volunteer at Tracy Elementary School; a member of the Siebenbuerger Club; and a former member of Christ United Methodist Church, American Legion, and the Moniuszko and Sunflower Clubs. She enjoyed doing ceramics and nurturing her azalea and rhododendron plants. She was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy and Milton Clark, and sisters, Martha Brown and Ruth Dunlap. Survivors include daughters, Cathleen McGuire and husband Paul of Millcreek and Colleen Senkalski and husband Robert of Long Island, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Joan Degner of Erie; stepson, Robert Degner of Welsh, Louisiana; brothers, William Clark and wife Anna Marie of Fla. and Jim Clark of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Dorothy Reiter of State College, Pa. and Jean Christy of Sarver, Pa.; grandsons, Kevin and Eric McGuire of Millcreek and Seth Senkalski of N.Y.; granddaughter, Sharon Senkalski and husband Josh Barna of Utah; and several nieces & nephews. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. A service will be held there Friday at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Roger C. Scarlett, Pastoral Assistant of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
