Mattie Moffatt Obituary
Mattie Lee Moffatt, 73, passed away Saturday, June 14, at St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1941, in DeKalb, Miss., to the late Napolean and Inola Page Larkin.
She relocated to Erie at an early age, and worked at Erie Presbyterian Lodge, until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Vickie Williams (Donald), William Earl Larkin "Jr." (Angie), Penny Fox, Sandra Gore, Trina Pope (Frank), all of Erie; Michelle Pittman (Michael) of Hattiesburg, Miss., and a granddaughter Erika Logan (Richard) of Erie, whom she raised as one of her own children; three brothers: W.C. Larkin (Bernice) of Hattiesburg, Miss., Napoleon Larkin (Norma), Willie Larkin, all of Erie, Pa; four sisters: Louis McLaurin, of Hattiesburg, Miss., Emma Jean Page (Bennie), Lois Knight and Annie McLaurin (Ester), all of Erie; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a special and dear friend Vernon Blakely, a special niece Marie Boulton, and best friend Erma Jones.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, PA 16502, on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and are invited to services there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with Apostle Gertrude L. Mitchell-House, from The New Making A Difference Ministries International, officiating. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family, care of Burton Funeral Home. Michelle, Trina, Sandy, Penny, Jr. Vickie and Erica, I am so very sorry for your of this wonderful woman. I can tell you this and I hope and pray that you will hold on to this thought. "I don't know what tomorrow holds but I do know know WHO holds tomorrow". Please, take anchor in HIS word and know that HE is too wise to make any mistakes. I spoke with "Auntie" the night before she passed and she sounded as if she was at peace. Take comfort in knowing that she is free. Lets make her proud as she watches over us. Let's love and take care of one another. I believe that this is what will make "Auntie" smile:) Remember, we love "Aunt Mattie" but the LORD JESUS CHRIST loves her best. The pain will lessen as soon as we draw nearer to HIM. I love all of you:)

Heartfelt condolences go out to the children, grand-children and family of Ms. Mattie. I have known Ms. Mattie for the majority of my life, and I will remember her as a fun and loving woman who was devoted to her family; as a woman who would give you the shirt off of her back, if it would help you. I pray for the Lord to bless her soul as she takes her rightful rest, and to comfort her family at this most difficult time. She will be missed.
