Michael was an avid athlete and had a singular passion for tennis and playing doubles with his friends. He was also an accomplished guitar player, being trained at age 9 to play classic style. But by far, his greatest joy was his love and devotion for his children.

Karlie and I met Mick through Wendy, Paige and Brooke. He was an amazing human being! He always had a smile on his face. I enjoyed great conversations with him about the Pittsburgh Steelers', families and even discussions about religion. He will be truly missed. Heaven gained an angel.
RIP Mick.

Oh, Mick, I am so very sad that you left us too soon. I had the privilege to know you on and off the tennis court. Your humor and fair play made you a joy to be around. I will always cherish the memory of you, Wendy, Wes and I playing marathon tennis well into the night on more than one occasion. The laughter and camaraderie far exceeded the court rivalry.
I wish to extend my sympathy to Spencer and Rickie Ann, who you loved dearly and were very proud.
Rest easy my friend.

My sincere condolences to the Michael (Mick) Zoth family.
Mick you displayed incredible respect and perseverance for tennis in our community.
You sometimes played tennis two or three times per day and made it competitive fun for everyone on your court. And in our Thursday drill you brought some dynamic lefty talent to keep us on our toes.
I hope you get to play tennis on a court in the sky and continue to share an amazing passion.
My heartfelt feelings go to Rickie Ann and Spencer. You were so proud of them.
RIP.

For 10 years, perhaps more, I had the privilege of playing doubles tennis with Mick Zoth. During that time, I also had the opportunity to meet and play tennis with his son, Spencer, and Mick had the opportunity to play tennis with my son, Zane. I was recently speaking with Zane about Mick's passing, and we were discussing how Mick had the ability to make you always want to play better. When he was your doubles partner, he never made you feel bad about missing a shot, which with me, was pretty often. Having a positive partner is very important to being able to stay mentally in the match. And no matter how good the opponent on the other side of the net might be, when Mick was on your team, you always believed you had a chance to win. And while I may have met Mick through tennis, we had many deep conversations about a wide variety of topics during our weekly Sunday morning get togethers. We spoke about politics, religion, movies, parenting, and more. I remember once saying how I was just starting to get this parenting thing figured out as my kids were moving out of the house, and Mick replied smiling, Isn't that the truth. Regretfully, it was on the day of Mick's passing that I met Rickie Anne. But over the years, I had heard much about Rickie Anne and Spencer from Mick, and attest he was incredibly proud and loved his children deeply. Mick will be missed immensely by many, but my heart aches for Spencer and Rickie Anne's loss.

We are stunned by this tragic loss of life . We thought the world of you Mick and enjoyed the time we spent with you in our family. Each time we saw you and we asked about the kids you would just light up talking about the two of them you were a very proud dad. We will miss you and think of you often. Such a wonderful man gone too soon.
