Mike Dunar Obituary

"Always in our Hearts"

Mike John Dunar, age 53, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021, following an extended illness.

He was born in Erie on February 5, 1968, son of the late Charles J., Sr. and Betty J. (Himes) Dunar.

Mike was a member of the Steamfitters UA Local #449. He was previously employed by Rabe Environmental Systems, Keep Heating and Cooling and Highlander Energy Products, Inc. In years past, Mike had participated in the Lower East Side Federation sports program. An avid hunter and fisherman, Mike loved spending time on Lake Erie and enjoyed sky diving. He also relished singing country and western karaoke; especially Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying". Most of all, Mike was a family man who loved nothing more than time spent with his loved ones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Dunar and one nephew, Donnie Dunar, Jr.

Survivors include one son, Jessie Dunar; one sister, Christine Fish (Phillip); five brothers: Charles Dunar, Jr., Donald Dunar, Sr. (Diana), Mark Dunar (Joan), Danny Dunar (Rachelle) and Eric Dunar as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish his trademark quote: "I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do, when I'm gonna do it".

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd., Harborcreek Township.

Memorial contributions may be designated to Lower Eastside Iron Eagles or UPMC Family Hospice.
