Ozell Denson Stonewall Ozell Denson Stonewall, 89, Independence Court, 41 W. Gore Rd., formerly of 426 E. 15th St. and Buffalo Rd., passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Hamot Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1919, in Cleola, Ga., daughter of the late Joe Denson and Katie Terry Denson. She was a native of Erie for over 60 years, coming from Ala. by way of Ky. She worked as a domestic housekeeper and had previously worked in the Housekeeping Dept. at Hamot Medical Center. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years and was a member of the Missionary Society, the R. C. Kay Ministry and served on many committees throughout the years. She was recognized by the National Baptist Congress of Christian Educators with many awards and certificates. Ozell always had a garden and planted flowers wherever she lived. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, and sang spirituals around the house. She loved her family and will be missed by them all. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jesse Stonewall, Jr. and Reginald Stonewall; a brother, Joe Denson, Jr., and three sisters, Ida Robinson, Susie Bradford and Katie Mae Robinson; a grandson, Theophillo Stonewall; and a great-granddaughter, Victoria Jean Stonewall. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 71 years, Jesse Stonewall, Sr., Erie; four sons, Curtis Stonewall and wife Thelma, Chicago, Ill., Melvin Stonewall, Erie, Leon Alfred Stonewall and wife Geraldine, Woodhaven, Mich., and Dale Kenneth Stonewall and wife Dorothy, El Cajon, Calif.; three daughters, Jacqueline Colbert, Little Ferry, N.J., Alaji Ujamaa, Decatur, Ga., and JoAnn Pembrooke and husband Terrence, Berkeley, Calif.; four sisters, Daisy Scott, El Paso, Texas, Rose Pipkins, Ann Arbor, Ga., Alice Fowler, Erie, and Judy Boyde, Fairfield, Ala.; 34 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., and may attend a funeral service on Saturday, 11 a.m., at Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 E. 5th St., conducted by Rev.
