Sandy, I am Bob's first cousin, Alfred's daughter Diane Chiprean Putman. I lost my husband in July of 2013 so know how hard it is to lose a beloved spouse. My daughter Susan found the Chiprean name on Facebook, so that's how I learned of Bob's death. I am so sorry....I have very nice memories of Bob from when I was a child.

Cindy, always hold him close in your heart and he will never be far away. I did not read far enough down to see this. Scott was gracious enough to give me a couple extra days when my Dad passed and I didn't even know we only were allowed three days. You won't get over this in a life time, but that is love you can cherish. Thinking of you and praying for you and your family. Frank and Alice

I had the pleasure of working with Bob back in '93 when as an intern with the Erie Civic Center. I worked two weddings with him. He was certainly a class act and he had the personality of a true "people person" . He always made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Bob may not have had a major role to play in life, but the impact he made on the people he met throughout his life I'm sure is memorable . My sincere condolences and remember he is in a better place.

To the entire Chiprean family, Just finding this out tonight when I got home! Sandy & Joe, I'm lost for words, Bob was such a classy and gentle loving man. His whole life was his family and what a fabulous family you all have! I loved talking with him in the store and I will always remember the talk he gave me when I told him I was moving to Denver. He made me feel so good about it and he reminded me so much of my father! I left the store with such comfort but then you all have experienced that from him for many years! My deepest condolences to your entire family. I know it is very difficult but please have comfort in knowing you will see him again!

My memories of Bob are so wonderful. Bob and his family have been part of me as long as I can remember. I like to think I was "his favorite piano student". Although, his kindness and patience probably made everyone feel they were "his favorite"! He has been such a positive influence in my life. Bob will be greatly missed by me and my family.

Dear Sandy (and family),
When ever I think of all the great conversations Bob and I would have over the years, a smile always came to my face. He was such a kind and gentle person to talk with, his sense of humor was a perfect match, as you know we would spend hours just chatting and laughing! Believe me, his presence will always be felt on our street. In fact, when we were chatting yesterday in your foyer, it felt like he was right there with us...and I believe he was! If there is anything you need in the coming days and months, don't hesitate to ask! (Also too...I like our little plan!) Blessings to all, Bob and Mary Beth.

I first met Bob at an Erie Ad Club Christmas party. He was playing the piano. At the time I didn't know he was my co-worker John's daddy. I just knew he was great entertainment with the piano and his witty banter. After that day I made sure I caught his attention from behind the bar whenever I was at the Phil or any other event at the Warner just to say "Hey" Bob was very sweet to always remember me. That sweetness is carried on by his entire family who I can say are all dear to me now. Rest in Peace Bob I'll miss you at the keyboard.
