Roger Sutton Obituary

Roger Kevin Sutton, age 51 of Millcreek, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 17, 1959 in Syracuse, N.Y., a son of the late Charles Richard and Margaret Gooch Sutton. Roger was raised in the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pa. and graduated from Plum Boro Senior High School in 1978. The family moved to Erie in 1980, where he soon met his wife of 27 years, Cindy Bauer Sutton. He was most recently employed as a maintenance foreman at the Millcreek Mall. He loved motorcycling and was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs Angel and Spike. He was a gentle and caring family man, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Jeremiah (Rebecca Humphrey) Sutton and their daughter (Roger's only grandchild), Emmaline Rose; and Kenneth Sutton, all of Erie; two brothers: Thomas (Donna Layden) Sutton and Christopher (Kathi) Sutton; his mother-in-law Marjorie Bauer, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a special cousin Gayle (James) Adams of Wake Forest, NC. He also leaves behind a lifelong best friend, Russell Schantz of North Versailles, Pa. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard Elberfeld officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help with expenses. Send condolences at www.Burtonfuneralhome.com.

Dear family,
The world lost a great man but he's up there somewhere, riding and looking out for you. Memories keep poping up, like your wedding day and watching Jeremiah when he was a little tyke.
You're my sister, honey and you have lots of people who love you and the boys. Let them help. You know I'm here. God bless you all and God bless Roger. Miss you always, friend.
