Ruby Deranger Obituary
GRAND PRAIRIE - Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas for Ruby Deranger, age 74, the former Ruby Stelly, who passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 8:20 a.m. at her residence in Washington.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Msgr. Keith DeRouen, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, will officiate at the services.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Deranger and his wife, Linda, of Mississippi and Paul Deranger and his wife, Paula, of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Angela Stansbury and her husband, Harold, of Leonville; two brothers, E. J. Stelly of Church Point and Elgee Stelly and his wife, Mary Katherine, of Melville; four sisters, Linda Richard and her husband, Charles, of Opelousas, Mary Jeffers of Baytown, TX, Bertha Pitre of Lafayette, and Shirley Wagner of Port Allen; two grandchildren, Danielle Vidrine and Andrew Deranger; and two great grandchildren, Kohl Vidrine and Ryleigh Vidrine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moise Deranger, Jr.; her parents, Yves Stelly and the former Drussie Mary Guillot; and one brother, Felton Stelly.
A rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Dixie LaFleur and Belle Duplechain.

Aunt Ruby was a kind and caring person. She always had a funny story to share or in some way made you laugh. Twenty-six years when I joined the family Aunt Ruby made me feel welcomed. I will miss her but I will never forget that wonderful lady who touched my heart.
