Ruby Jane Steadman

Ruby Jane Steadman, 75, of North Main Street, Union City, Pa., passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa. Ruby was born April 10, 1936 in Union City, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles A. and Dorothy (Hayes) Steadman. She was a former dispatcher for the Union City Police, Fire and Ambulance services for over 30 years, and also worked at the Union City Public Library and the Corry Library in the children's section. She was also a fifty year-plus member of the Presbyterian Church in Union City, where she was active as a Sunday School teacher, secretary, and treasurer for the Sunday School, and former deacon and elder, and also a fifty plus-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, American Chapter #19. Ruby is survived by a brother, Richard Steadman of Union City, Pa.; nieces, Susan Kinney and Rachelle Wolf and her husband, Robert, all of Union City, Pa.; a nephew, Charles Steadman and his wife, Susan L.; great-nieces, Melanie Miller and Leona Wolf; and great-nephews, John, Jake, and Joseph Wolf and Nathan Miller, all of Union City, Pa. Friends are invited to call at the Union City Presbyterian Church, West High Street, Union City, Pa., on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and attend funeral services there on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Willert will officiate with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, Pa. The Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA, is handling arrangements.
