Susan Liebel-Paré Obituary

Susan Liebel-Paré, 57, died at 4:25 p.m. on July 19, 2013, after losing her battle with the cancer that she fought for seven years.

Susie was born in Erie, Pa. on November 7, 1955, the daughter of Allen and Elinor (Bower) Gifford, and had been a longtime resident of New Hampshire.

Susie, who always had a strong belief in family, was our nucleus. She was and will still be our center and the glue that holds our family together. Susie was a loyal friend to many and was a great listener. She always knew how to keep perspective. Everyone who knew her is a better person for it. Her faith in people and the human spirit, will be a driving factor in the way we live our life now, asking "what would Susie do". Her sense of humor, strength, outlook and perspective will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Surviving members of the family include her husband, Vincent Paré of Rochester, N.H.; her children, Emily Cregg and her husband Sean and their son, Logan of Fremont, N.H.; Noah Liebel with the U.S. Army, Sam Liebel and partner Casey McFarland, Kevin Paré, Gabe Paré and Alex Paré all of Rochester, N.H. She also leaves two brothers, Allen (Butch) Gifford and wife Susan of Spokane, Wash. and David Gifford and wife Joan of Gainsville, Va.; and one sister, Carol Huber of Erie, Pa.

Memorial calling hours will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, N.H. on Tuesday, 7/23/2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. To sign the on-line guest book, please visit www.GrondinFuneralHome.com.

Carol and Susie's family,

So sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Susie in several years, but I fondly remember her sweetness. Never an unkind word to say about anyone or anything. We were HPC friends and enjoyed comparing notes when our daughters, her Emily and our Charla, were born around the same time.

Our thought s and prayers are with you,

I Felt An Angel
I felt an angel near today, though one I could not see
I felt an angel oh so close, sent to comfort me
I felt an angel's kiss, soft upon my cheek
And oh, without a single word of caring did it speak
I felt an angel's loving touch, soft upon my heart
And with that touch, I felt the pain and hurt within depart
I felt an angel's tepid tears, fall softly next to mine
And knew that as those tears did dry a new day would be mine
I felt an angel's silken wings enfold me with pure love
And felt a strength within me grow, a strength sent from above
I felt an angel oh so close, though one I could not see
I felt an angel near today, sent to comfort me.

Susie was a good friend to us when were students together on the Behrend campus of Penn State. We still have a potted philodendron that Susie gave Tim for his birthday nearly 40 years ago, and regret that we didn't keep in closer touch as those years passed. She was a shining light and one of the most gentle souls we've been privileged to know. May light perpetual shine upon her now.

Lynn Colwell (McKay)

?I was so saddened to hear of Susie's passing. I hadn't been in touch with her for years, since we used to work together at Ames in Dover. We spent quite a bit of time together back then and I was continually in admiration of the strength of her spirit, her sense of humor and her ability to accept and understand people. Her smile was a shining light and I had missed her and wondered about her many times through the years.

My heart goes out to her children, her grandchild, her husband and other family and friends. I feel blessed to have known her and though it is a tremendous loss for many, her spirit will continue to shine down on her lived ones and hopefully they will gain some peace of mind to know her suffering and pain has ended.
