William Otteni Obituary

William E. “Billy O” Otteni William E. “Billy O” Otteni, 59, of E. 10th St., died Tuesday, April 10, 2007. He was born in Erie on August 17, 1947, a son of the late Anton T. and Winifred Killmeyer Otteni. He was in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the International Operating Engineers. He is survived by his daughter, Diana Romanoff, and her husband, John, of Chardon, Ohio; two granddaughters, Hannah and Grace Romanoff; a sister, Winifred Nickell, and her husband, James; and a brother, Anton Otteni, both of Erie. Friends may call on Friday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited there to the Funeral Service on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don, from Erie First Assembly of God, officiating. I always enjoyed seeing Uncle Billy when I stayed with relatives in Erie (during the summer growing up-30 years ago). He was always smiling and had a story to tell. He was a neat person and I will miss him.

I am sorry for your loss. Billy O. was a very close friend of mine and my wife Susi. I will always remember him for all the good things he did for others, as Billy would say " he was a man among men". He was a friend you could always count on. and I will never forget him.
