Benjamin Hurst Obituary

Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Hurst, 70, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, at his residence in Eufaula.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Dale Barfield will officiate and burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Eufaula to the late Tommy and Ruby Stanford Hurst. He was a retired SFC in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, a member of the VFW Post 5850 in Eufaula, an avid Alabama fan and his hobby was fishing.
Survivors include wife Carolyn Hurst, sons Jerry (Cindy) Cadle, Mike (Sandra) Phillips and Dale (April) Barfield, all of Eufaula; Gregg (Ann) Hurst of Tulsa, Okla.; Billy (Trish) Cadle of New Jersey and daughter Laura (Steven) Conway of Orlando, Fla. and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bubba was by far one of my favorite customers at the Depot. I will never forget him, and I'll keep his Roll Tide just a Rollin'.(: love ya Bubba, see ya one day in Heaven!

I just realized who Mr. Hurst was, I am so sorry for your loss, please express my condolences to Jerry, Mr. Ben was a sweet man who I had just seen in Walmart and spoke to not long ago.
