Frances Brannon Obituary

Frances Elmira Granberry Brannon, a resident of Enterprise, formerly of Georgetown, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 2, in an Enterprise hospital following a short illness. She was 93.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ronald C. Baker officiating. Burial followed in the Old Center United Methodist Cemetery, near Newville.

Mrs. Brannon was a native of the Hebron community of Henry County, between Headland and Columbia, daughter of the late Thomas Whit Granberry and Mary Etta Burnham Granberry. She lived in Eufaula and Georgetown most of her lifetime. Mrs. Brannon had lived in Enterprise since Nov. 2010. She was a retired employee of Cowikee-Avondale Mills in Eufaula after more than 30 years of employment.

Mrs. Brannon was preceded in death by her husband, William Carthell Brannon, two sons, Howard Eugene Brannon and Charles Willard Brannon, sisters, Virginia Heath, Evelyn Whatley and Dorothy Jones, brothers, Mack Granberry and Arlis Granberry.

Surviving relatives include a son, Roger Brannon and wife, Sara Yvonne Brannon, Enterprise; a sister, Jeanette Deese, Ashford, Ala.; two brothers, George B. Granberry, Hebron community of Henry County; Herman Granberry and wife, Mary Ann Granberry, Ozark, Ala.; a brother-in-law, Byron Heath, Enterprise, Ala.; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Bobby Joe and Lenora Riley, Blackshear, Ga.

Holman-Headland Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
