Linda Burns Hill was born on May 8, 1941 to Fred and Yvonne Lunsford Burns of Dahlonega, Georgia. She was a 1959 graduate of Lumpkin County High School and a 1963 graduate of North Georgia College. After college, she moved to Atlanta where she worked as a dietitian at St. Joseph's Hospital. She later worked at the Agricultural Extension Service and as a schoolteacher in Social Circle, GA.

In 1967, she married David T. Hill. With the birth of their first child, Linda became a full-time homemaker. Over the years, she was a dedicated volunteer at her children's schools, Auburn United Methodist Church, the Woman's Club and other community organizations. She also served as the wedding director at AUMC for 10 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David T. Hill; three children, Heather Deese (Ray), Erin Wingate (Richard) and Joel Hill (Jennie); eight grandchildren, Molly Deese, Davis Wingate, Nathan Deese, Annie Wingate, Sarah Deese, Cooper Wingate, Jackson Hill and Thomas Hill; one brother, Tommy Burns; one sister, Becky Burnett (Jim) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held in the Founder's Chapel at Auburn United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 13 at 2 p.m.
