Adam Lobaugh Obituary

ASPERS Adam F. Lobaugh, 89, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, in the Village of Laurel Run, following complications from a fall at his home on October 30, 2011. Adam was born in Huntington Twp. on June 5, 1922, to the late Charles R. and Hattie Hamilton Lobaugh. He was a retired dairy farmer and one of the oldest members of the Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church, where he was a past council member and past treasurer. Adam also served many years on the Upper Bermudian Cemetery Board and was a past treasurer. He was the past president of Adams County Holstein Assoc., past president of the Adams County Dairy Herd Improvement Assoc., and past president of Young Farmers, Biglerville. Adam was a board member of the Farmers Home Administration and board member of the Adams County Farmers Bureau. He also served on the board of the Adams County Agriculture Extension Assoc. and was a member of the Dairy Shrine Club. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruth Elizabeth Golden Lobaugh; his son, Phillip M. (Colleen) Lobaugh of Chambersburg; a daughter, Dawn L. (Frank) Bodenberg of Gettysburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Melvin (Bill) Lobaugh of Connecticut, and a sister, Elsie Wire of East Berlin. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Guy Lobaugh; and five sisters, Ethel Herman, Pearl Melhorn, Florence Metzer, Grace Kemper, and Irene Wire. Funeral services will be held in his church at 185 Ground Oak Church Road, Gardners 17324 on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eric N. Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A visitation from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service will be held in the Sunday School Building. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs 17065.
