Albert McMaster Obituary

BONNEAUVILLE Albert J. McMaster, 76, entered God's eternal care, Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the York Hospital. Born May 20, 1937, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late John and Rita (Staub) McMaster. Albert was the loving husband of Joyce Elaine (Brumgard) McMaster, with whom he shared 11 years of marriage, and the late June F. (Sanders) McMaster, who died in 1979, and the late Myrtle E. (Seburn) McMaster who died in 1999. Albert was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #1342, Bonneauville, the New Oxford Social Club, the Gettysburg Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1526, and the York Adams 2 Cylinder Club. Albert retired from ESAB after many years of service as a laborer. He was also a lifelong farmer. Albert loved farming and his John Deere tractors. He enjoyed going to softball games and tractor pulls and loved attending his grandchildren's sports events and activities. In addition to his wife Joyce, Albert is survived by his children, Anne C. Emlet and husband Charles of York Springs, Christine M. Barth and husband Mike of York Springs, and Tina L. Haymaker and husband Jim of New Oxford; his stepchildren, Laura Ann Shafer of Davis, Calif., Scott J. Bankert of New York, N.Y., and Melissa J. Hansford of Bonneauville; his grandchildren, Jessica, Nathan and Alex Emlet, Brittany, Brianne and Brock Pate, Dalton and Evan Haymaker, Dale and James Shafer, Alex and Erin Nell and Belen and Sol Bankert; a great-grandchild, Zoe Nelson; four brothers, Donald McMaster, Robert McMaster, Larry McMaster and Sam McMaster; and two sisters, Bernadette Sterner and Betty Kachel. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Albert's life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, with Father Peter DiTomasso as celebrant. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, with prayers at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the York Adams 2 Cylinder Club Scholarship Fund, 2245 Bon-Ox Road, New Oxford, PA 17350; or St. Joseph's the Worker Parish Bonneauville, 12 E. Hanover St., Gettysburg, PA 17325. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements. Dear Chris ,Ann & Tina, and families , My heartfelt sympathy goes out to each and everyone of you. I truly know what your going through it will be 6 years since my dad passed!And believe me when I say it does get easier ! But you'll never forget the good times! To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
