Beatrice "Bea" Greenawalt Nobile, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Columbia Cottage, while surrounded by her family.
Born on April 3, 1931, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Ralph H. Greenawalt, Sr. and Margaret McFarland Greenawalt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Nobile, who died in 1988; a brother, Ralph H. Greenawalt, Jr.; and a sister, Marian Greenawalt Kresge. She was a 1949 graduate of Columbia High School and a 1952 graduate of the Reading School of Nursing.
Bea was a Registered Nurse and took great pleasure in providing nursing care to others. She was a former member of the Saint Peter Catholic Churches in Columbia and Elizabethtown and was a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover. She was a member of the Grandview Seniors and was a volunteer at Hanover Hospital for many years. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family meant everything to her.
Survivors include her six children, Mark Nobile and his wife, Mary Flaherty-Nobile, of Poquoson, Va., Adrienne Nobile-Harner of Hanover, Matthew Nobile and his wife, Joan, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Thomas Nobile and his wife, Kay Carnahan, of Lewes, Del., Margaret Nobile Lindsey and her husband, Michael, of Hanover, Annette Nobile Wilson and her husband, Kevin, of Lansdale; nine grandchildren, John Michael Nobile, Shannon Parker, Brett Nobile, Kate and Alex Harner, Jeremy Nobile, Kara Otte, Allison Lindsey and Zoe Wilson; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan and Audrey Parker, Charley Nobile, and Justin and Lukas Otte.
A funeral mass will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church, 121 S. Second St. in Columbia, with the Rev. Augustine Joseph celebrating. Burial will be private in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbia Cottage and the VNA Hospice for the loving care they provided to their mother.
