Carroll E. Parr

THOMASVILLE Carroll E. Parr, 76, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Margot M. (Schidlowski) Parr. Born on May 4, 1934, in Abbottstown, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elma (Zeigler) Parr. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the East Berlin V.F.W., and the East Berlin Fire Co. He worked for York Building Products for over 30 years. In addition to his wife Margot, Carroll is survived by four sons, Ruben Parr and his wife Denise of Martville, N.Y., Jack Parr and his wife Nancy of Dover, Larry Parr and his wife Carole of Hanover, and Michael Parr and his wife Susan of East Berlin; three daughters, Christina Burns and her husband John of Thomasville, Linda Kress and her husband Thomas of Hanover, and Tammy Shore and her husband Fred of Spring Grove; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine Emig of Abbottstown, and Norma Wilkinsen of Hanover. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Charles Parr, and two sisters, Mary Jane Zellers and Anna Staley. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, with Rev. Larry A. McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Holtzschwamm Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
