Clara Unger Obituary

Clara Josephine Unger, 83, died Friday, June 2, 2006, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center. She was the wife of Theron Bur nell Unger of Sprenkle Avenue, Hanover, for 61 years. Born in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Herbert A. Wright and Genevieve M. Small Wright. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and a graduate of Eichelberger Sr. High School. An avid music lover, she played piano, accordion, and guitar, and enjoyed singing. She loved to dance and was a joy to be around. She was employed in sales and manufacturing briefly before marrying, after which she became a full time housewife as her husband requested. She leaves, in addition to her husband, one sister, Florence Kauffman of Hanover. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Edward Unger; two brothers, Clifford Wright, and Rodger E. Wright, who died in the service of his country during WWII; and two sisters, Joyce Wright and Beatrice Anthony. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover. There will be no viewing. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Thomas officiating and the Rev. Clair Shorb assisting. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery following the services. Contributions in Josephine's name my be made to the charity of your choice.
