David Schoolcraft Obituary
Hanover - David Dennis (Den) Schoolcraft, 59, passed away on May 17, 2018 in the comfort of his daughter's home surrounded by family. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Brandie Gilbert; her spouse, Joel Gilbert; and his two grandchildren, Ian and Aubrey Gilbert of Franklintown.
Born August 1, 1958, in Hanover, he was the son of David B. Schoolcraft and Lois Schoolcraft (deceased). "Den" was one of five siblings including Jackie Hollabaugh (spouse Nick) of New Oxford, Rick Schoolcraft of Hanover, Jill Group (spouse Don Jr.) of Mount Holly Springs, and Jeff Schoolcraft (spouse Tammy) of Hampstead, NC. David will also be leaving behind his life partner, Laura Shorb of Hanover. As well as ten nieces and nephews and many cousins. Den will be joining his beloved pet companion, Tanner and numerous loved ones who predeceased his death. (We can only imagine that welcome party)!
David, a Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, was a 12-year cancer survivor, who loved to spend time with his grandchildren, including the enjoyment of boat rides for salt-water fishing. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. David was a member of the National American Legion, and McSherrystown Moose Lodge 720, as well as a member of the Bermudian Springs Class of 1976.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the McSherrystown Moose Lodge 720 (534 South Street in McSherrystown, PA 17344) on June 10th from 1-3 p.m.
