Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eleanor Jane Scholl Elsner. Frank was born on March 2, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of first generation German immigrants to the U.S.A., Franz and Johanna Elsner. He moved with his parents to Hanover in 1932. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Frank received his high school diploma from Eichelberger High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. After his graduation, he worked in Canton, Ohio, and Meadville, Pa., before moving back to Hanover to join his father's business, Elsner Engineering Works, Inc., in 1954. This model was awarded the Best Steel Navy Ship by the U.S. Naval Academy Ship Model Society in 2000. Frank followed his father's footsteps as a director on the Adams County National Bank Board for 33 years and served in numerous committee capacities within this public banking institution during that time. I never met Frank. I did meet and work with Rusty over a period of a year. The family ethos, passed on undoubtedly from Frank, permeated the workplace at Elsner Engineering - that of honour, integrity and fairness.
Enjoy what Frank provided as a foundation to your family and to your business ethic.
I offer my condolences.
