Frank Tuttle Obituary

Tuttle, Frank Earl

Frank "Frankie" Tuttle died on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Absolut Care Center, Endicott, NY after a long illness. He was born September 6, 1956 in Elmira, NY to Kathleen "Teen" McGuire Tuttle Smith and Wilbur Earl Tuttle. He was predeceased by his half-brother, Earl Tuttle; his maternal grandparents, Laura and Kenneth McGuire; and paternal grandparents, Marion and Mildred Tuttle. In addition to his parents, Frankie is survived by his half-sister, Kimberly Winter; his stepfather, Donald Smith; his stepmother, Sharron Tuttle; his aunts, Bessie McGuire and Anne Akers (Allen); and his uncle, Thomas McGuire (Mary). Surviving cousins include Diana McComb, Stephen and Randolph Brown, Clinton, Daniel, Kevin and Budd Akers, Brenda Hoose and Karen Vanetten; his great aunts, Elsie Burns and Virginia White; and his great uncle, Paul Tremblay. Frankie's journey through life as been a difficult one, but he maintained a friendsy and upbeat attitude in spite of a life-changing disability. Frankie was a senior in Newfield Central High School when he was in a serious auto accident, leaving him with a debilitating head injury. He had been a star basketball player but was not able to play after the accident. He did return to Newfield Central School from which he graduated. After graduation, he worked for several years for Challenge Industries in Ithaca. Many family members are members of the Lions Club in Newfield and could be seen carrying and reading paperback books as he walked around Ithaca. More recently he lived in Binghamton. When he could no longer live on his own, he was placed with Absolut Care in Endicott and was doing well until recently. Memorial Services will be held at Bangs Funeral Home Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at noon with 11:00 a.m. calling hours preceding the services. He will be buried at the Trumbull's Corners Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the parents and step-parents would prefer donations go to the Trumbull's Corners Cemetery Association, PO Box 112, Newfield, NY 14867.
