Freda R. (Goodling) Flickinger, 95, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, April 17, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Harry Flickinger, who passed away in 2000.
Freda was born in Spring Grove on November 9, 1920, and was the daughter of the late William and Lottie (Senft) Goodling. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stoverstown. She was also a former member of the York Democratic Club and the Jefferson AARP.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Blankenstein of Stoverstown; her grandchildren, Lisa Bahn and husband Timothy and Michael Blankenstein; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Leanne, Matthew, Evan and Garrett. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Walter Blankenstein; brothers, Philip, Rodger and Ray Goodling; and her sister, Dorothy Robertson.
A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4767 Lehman Road, Stoverstown. with the Rev. Dr. Bradley Dayett officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service next to her husband at St. Paul Union Cemetery in Stoverstown. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Family services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.
