Frederick Shealer Obituary

GETTYSBURG Frederick M. Shealer, 84, died Wednesday evening, May 5, 2010, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Faye Marie (Currens) Shealer who died in 1979. Born July 8, 1925, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Edgar G. and Helen (Eichelberger) Shealer. Mr. Shealer was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Gettysburg. He was the owner and operator of Shealer's Septic Service for over 60 years. He is survived by his six children, James M. Shealer and his wife, Pam of Gettysburg, Gerald F. Shealer of Gettysburg, Michael H. Shealer and his wife, Amy of Dover, Vicky I. (Shealer) Fissel of Gettysburg, Rebecca Reck and her husband Robert of Hanover, and Carolyn Wright of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; seven greatgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Phiel of New Oxford. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Shealer; a daughter, Linda A. (Shealer) Rock; and a brother, Raymond Jones. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Roy Fauth officiating. Burial will be in the Great Conewago Cemetery, Hunterstown. The family will receive friends Sunday evening May 9, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325. Online condolences may be made at monahanfh.com

From my childhood memories, I remember Mr Shealer as a nice man who was always there for his friends and neighbors. He was someone you could count on to give you a good deal or to help you out, when needed.
