I too have many of the same fond memories growing up on Hill Top Drive. When it snowed and the outside air was calm and quiet everyone waiting patiently to hear the chug of Gary's tractor. He would be invited in for a refreshing drink and a little warmth, then he was onto the next. It was also a fun time in the basement Christmas eve watching the trains and taking turns at the player piano. Katie, Blane, Scott and family, may you find peace in all the wonderful memories. May God Bless and be with you all.

Thoughts and prayers to the family! Growing up Gary always put a smile on my face when he ventured up to see my grandparents! I will always remember his passion for trains and the amazing set up of them in his basement. He loved watching all the boys play music since he loved playing himself! I will not forget the pound look on his face when he seen Michael, Blane, and Brad play! He of course had to jump in as well. May God be with him now and the family as well! Love you all!

For me, there are less than a handful of people who influenced my childhood and of whom left lasting, wonderful memories. Gary is one of them. Gary always had time for us as kids and always greeted us with a smile. His home was in the center of our rural neighborhood so we always congregated there. I have lasting images of Gary on his Bolen's tractor, in particular in the winter, when he would plow our driveway. I remember him beaming when I presented him with a wrapped bottle of beer one year for Christmas. This was an era when neighbors helped one another and Gary was always available. I remember the trains, the pool table and player piano in the basement. I fondly remember the console tv and stereo where a love for music was birthed, a passion that lives on even today. I can still hear the sounds of Homer and Jethro coming from the speakers and see Hee Haw on the screen. Katie, Blane, Scott, and family, I pray that God's grace and comfort will be with you as you deal with this loss.
