James Wike Obituary

James "Jim" Allen Wike, 55, formerly of Glen Rock, died late Monday evening, Aug. 29, 2005, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md. Born June 5, 1950, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late William F. and Mary C. (Carr) Wike. Mr. Wike was a concrete finisher for many years, and drove a cement mixer for Genstar. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his former wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Wagner of Cascade, Md.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Wike of Cascade, Md.; sisters, Joyce Walsh of Westminster, Md. and Darlene Rohrback of Taneytown, Md.; grandsons, Thane Michael Carbaugh and Takota Allan Godfrey; nephews, Michael Arbaugh of Union Bridge, Md., William "Pete" and Charles Arbaugh, both of Hanover, John Walsh and William "Bucky" Wike of Westminster, Md., and Zeb Rohrback and David Wike, both of Union Bridge, Md.; nieces, Belinda Fisher of Hanover, Bonita Thomas of Union Bridge, Md., and Kathrine Arbaugh and Becky Fringer, both of Westminster, Md.; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Thomas, Truman, and Treva Wike, and Theda Arbaugh. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, Md., with the Rev. John C. Morrill of St. John's (Leisters) Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's (Leisters) Church Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Please use the Longwell Ave. entrance. Contributions may be made in his name to Mission of Mercy, 10 Distillery Dr., Westminster, MD 21157.
