James Winebrenner Obituary

James H. 'HARLEY' Winebrenner, 17, entered into God's eternal care Friday morning, September 2, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident. Born August 4, 1988, in Hanover, he was the son of James B. Winebrenner, III and Jean M. Weikert, as well as his stepmother, Amy E. Perry. Harley was a member of the Class of 2006 of New Oxford Senior High School where he participated in both football and wrestling. Harley worked seasonally at Winebrenner Motors, Stambaugh Chevrolet and the Tropical Treat. He enjoyed the beach and playing golf in his spare time. Harley is survived by his sister, Amber L. Weikert of New Oxford; two stepsisters, Elizabeth R. Perry and Eryn P. Perry, both of Hanover; paternal grandparents, James B. Jr. and Sonnie L. (Weaver) Winebrenner of Fenwick Island, Del.; maternal grandmother, Shirley (Toot) Weaver of Hanover; great-gandmother, Bette Winebrenner of Hanover; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. A service to celebrate and remember Harley's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday on the terrace of Patty and John's Restaurant overlooking the golf course, 1161 Westminster Ave., Hanover, with the Rev. Gerhard H.W. Roggenkamp officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends and share memories of Harley immediately after the service. If you wish to make memorial contributions in Harley's name, the family suggests they be made to The Dollars for Scholars Program of New Oxford Senior High School, 130 Berlin Road, New Oxford, PA 17350; or to the charity of your choice. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Jimmy & Jim B., I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your son & grandson. Both of you and your families are in my prayers today. I don't remember meeting Harley during my days at Miller-Hanover, but if he was anything like the two of you, he was the "Cream of the crop".

May God's comfort find you often during the next days, weeks, months and always.

Jimmy, Amy, Jabe and Sonny:

It is evident from all the passages in this book that Harley was so well loved. If there were words that could make you feel better at this time, you know I'd say them......but right now, until I see you, just know that I love you all so much.....Why this kind of heartache hits those people who are so kind and so good....is beyond me. One day we will all know those answers...in the meantime, my heart hurts for all of you.....Much love, Vicki

Harley- Wow, I never thought this would happen. I never thought i would be hearing that it was you on Friday morning. The last time i saw you was last school year. I can remember standing in at work talking to you, when i worked there. I remember all the things we talked about. When I was at my locker between classes you would stop by and talk to me, we would exchange a few words and then go on our ways until we could finish our conversation at work. You always knew how to put a smile on someone's face. I still can't believe this happened. We love you, and we will always miss you.

Winebrenner family- I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, I'm praying your family can get through this. Harley was a great guy. God has him in a safe place and he is free from harm.

Kait- I love you hunny. If you need anything, we are all here for you. He loves you!!! He will always watch down on you and keep in safe arms.
