Judith Raffel Obituary

YORK Judith V. Raffel, 62, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Stella Maris Hospice in Tim onium, Md. She was born September 30, 1946, in New York City, the daughter of the late Edward and Veronica Munson Gotta. Judy was a psychology professor and taught at Harrisburg Area Community College. She received her Masters Degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Baltimore, Md. She attended St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, Md. Judy was an avid reader and loved gardening. She is survived by daughters, Rachel Raffel of York, and Rebecca and husband, Sean Dunagan of Monterrey, Mexico; brother, Edward Gotta, Jr. of Nakomis, Fla.; and grandchildren, Owen, Theodore, Patrick, and Phinehas Dunagan, and Amelie Scharon. A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, Md., with Deacon Joseph Cinquino officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster, Md. The family will receive friends Friday 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
