Lillian Bell Obituary

Lillian E. Bell, 94, entered into God's eternal care 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Hanover Hall. She was the wife of the late Glenn E. Bell. Born in New Oxford on Aug. 12, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Florence Deatrick Essick. Mrs. Bell had been employed by the former Freeman Shoe Company. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She will be sadly missed by her sons Terry L. Bell and his wife Eleanor A. of Hanover, Philip G. Bell and his wife Barbara of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a step great-grandson; a greatgreat-granddaughter; and her sisters Leona Ernst, Evelyn Kellenberger both of Hanover, and June Berube of Worcester, Mass. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Gloria B. Frederick, a sister Charlotte Essick, and her brothers John and William Essick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her service of remembrance 11 a.m. Friday morning at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover. Viewings will be Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday morning at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Robert N. Maddox, Jr. will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331. Serving as Pallbearers will be John Frederick, Jr., Grant Frederick, Lance Frederick, Thomas Bell, Allen Bell, Bruce Bell, Steven Bell, and Robert Luckenbaugh.
