Lloyd Yost Obituary

HANOVER Lloyd D. Yost, Jr., 80, loving husband of Norma Arentz Yost, entered into God's eternal care on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Hanover Hospital. Born on Thursday, March 15, 1934, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Lloyd D. Yost, Sr. and Elsie E. Stultz Yost. He was a 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School. Mr. Yost spent his entire working career as a machinist, retiring from the P.H. Glatfelter Company in 1998. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Patmos Lodge #348 F&AM, Green Springs Rod & Gun Club and the York-Adams Fish & Game Club. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and Hanover Elks Lodge BPOE #763, where he formerly served as a District Deputy. Lloyd enjoyed woodworking and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In addition, he was fond of Cocker Spaniels, especially his beloved Mickey and Cody. He was a proud grandfather and took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren's sporting events. In addition to his wife with whom he just celebrated 60 years of marriage on January 1st, he is survived by a son, the Rev. John D. Yost and his wife, Mindy, of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren, Dryden, Dylan and Bryanna Yost; a sister, Mary Weaver and her husband, Richard, of Spring Grove; a special "son", Cory Reichart of Hanover; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331; or to Christ's United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike, Millmont, PA 17845. Arrangements are under the care of Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., Hanover.
