Marian B. Mikula

NASHVILLE Marian B. (Hillegas) Mikula, 77, died Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2009, at her home in Jackson Town ship. She was the wife of Richard G. Mikula who preceded her in death on January 14, 1996. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a. m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 152 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Thomas C. Marickovic as celebrant. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Holy Savior Cemetery in York. Marian was born February 3, 1932, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Imgrund) Hillegas. She was employed in food service as a waitress for most of her career and was a long time employee of the Bon-Ton Tea Room in downtown York and the Yorktowne Golf Club. She was also employed as a cashier at the Midlantic Golf Club in Dover. Marian was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring Grove. She graduated from the Berlin High School in Berlin, and then attended the former Thompson Business School in York. Marian will be sadly missed by two sons, Gary R. Mikula and wife, Holly Burnet Mikula of Wellesley, Mass., and Gregory J. Mikula and wife Tracy, of Philadelphia; three daughters, Barbara E. Mikula of Lovettsville, Va., Dorothy L. Mikula of Bridgeport, Pa., and Maryjane Boone and husband, Troy of Cumming, Ga.; and eleven grandchildren. Marian is also survived by two sisters, Grace Badgley of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Dorothy Hillegas of Cumberland, Md. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Hillegas.
