Marlin Sanders Obituary

LITTLESTOWN Marlin E. Sanders, 74, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Green Acres of Gettysburg. He was the husband of Doris (Krichten) Sanders for almost 50 years. Born February 13, 1935, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Jesse and Reba (Lockbaum) Sanders. He was employed with Willis Myers Floor Covering and Fred Dutterer Custom Cabinets, both of Littlestown. He served in the Army from 1957-59 and was assigned to Germany for a year and a half. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Susan M. Brashears and husband, Robert L. of Bonneauville and Julia E. Miller of Littlestown; and three grandchildren, Nathan and Joshua Brashears and Amber Miller. Marlin was predeceased by a brother, Daniel K. Sanders; and a sister, Mary E. Baker. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown, and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a wood craftsman and enjoyed making family presents and Christmas decorations. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with the Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. A viewing will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown. Interment will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. Pallbearers will be, Nathan Brashears, Joshua Brashears, Bernard Krichten, Jim Baker, and Brian and Douglas Sanders. Amber Sanders will serve as honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be sent to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown, PA 17340; or American Diabetes Assoc., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
