Martha Harner Obituary

GETTYSBURG Martha "Jean" Harner, 73, died Saturday evening, April 21, 2007, at Green Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Gettysburg. She was the wife of Robert F. Harner, who died May 17, 2000. Born August 3, 1933, in Motters Station, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Mary Elizabeth (Miller) Grushon. Jean was a graduate of Lilttlestown High School with the class of 1951. After retirement in 1997 from Hanover Architectural Products, Inc. as a receptionist, she devoted her time to volunteering at the Hanover Hospital, Eichelberger Performing Art Center, and Homewood at Plum Creek. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Michele D. and David W. Hartlaub of Gettysburg; a granddaughter, Jodi L. Hartlaub of Gettysburg; a grandson and his wife, Nathan L. and Amanda E. Hartlaub of Gettysburg; and two great-grandchildren, Devrynn and Alahna. A memorial service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. in the chapel at Homewood at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, with Chaplain Charles Hull officiating. Contributions may be made in Jean's memory to the Adams County SPCA to aid in the proposed expansion project. Arrangements entrusted to Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Harrisburg.
