Matthew Helt Obituary
Hanover
Matthew J. Helt, 59, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Linda A. (Godwin) Helt, to whom he was married 40 years.
Born February 14, 1957, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Clifford and Margaret (Brittingham) Helt.
Matt was employed at Painters Mill Service Station in Owings Mills, Md. He loved to golf and spend time with his family and friends, especially his kids and grandkids.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Jessica A. Helt of Hanover, Robert M. Helt and his wife Melissa of New Oxford, and Christopher B. Helt and his wife Melissa L. of Hanover; five grandchildren, Emma Jane, Andrew, Jacob, Barratt and Hadley; three siblings, Thomas Helt of Catonsville, Md, Steve Helt of New York and John Helt of Frederick, Md.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

We lost a good mechanic. More importantly we lost a good friend. Matt took care of our cars for 35 years. We first met him in 1975. He always had a big smile. We will miss him. Rest in peace.

Good guy!!! Always thought he was indestructible like our Uncle Bob Stewart. Always remember before school he would comb his hair first and then comb mine the same way. Yea wise guys, we both had hair back then.
