Maurice Luckenbaugh Obituary

Maurice "Sonny" E. Lucken baugh, 71, entered into God's eternal care at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Hanover Hall. He was the husband of Shirley Stevens Luckenbaugh to whom he was married 47 years. Born in Hanover on October 22, 1933, he was the son of the late Maurice E. and Carrie Miller Luckenbaugh. Mr. Luckenbaugh retired from ESAB Welding and Cutting Products in 1996 after 25 years of employment. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the Hanover Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Luckenbaugh graduated from Littlestown High School. A decorated veteran, U.S. Army Private First Class Luckenbaugh served his country with pride and honor as a Infantryman during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during combat. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Randy L. Stevens of Thomasville; four step grandchildren, Ryand, Koby, Daney and Gabriel Stevens; five sisters, Lena Wolfgang of Hanover, Lillian Luckenbaugh, Rose Walls both of Gettysburg, Mary Tipton of Liberty, Texas, and Barbara Homan of New Oxford, and a brother, Harold Luckenbaugh of Hanover. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Luckenbaugh, and two step grandchildren, Jason Stevens and Randy L. Stevens, Jr. Funeral services will be private at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with the Rev. Steven W. Fauser officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care (Hospice), 44 Bowman Road, York, PA 17404.
