It is sad to lose such a vibrant person that touched many. He made me smile much and was one of the best hosts I've ever been around! My condolences to Mrs. C, Tim, Kelly and JP, you are all in my thoughts.

On behalf of the Dolan family, please accept our sincere condolences. We know first hand the pain of losing a great father and a loving husband. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this sad time.
He left us with some fond memories. I just read Vici Compton's entry, and all this time I thought the kids on 34th street were the only ones allowed to ride in Officer Callahan's paddy wagon!
He had a way of making all of the kids feel special and the world could use more people like him.

I was just speaking of Mr. Mike about 2 weeks ago to some guys that knew him or worked with him in law enforcement. I was telling them about how he would pick a bunch of us kids up on a Friday evening, in the old black paddy wagon and took us for a ride. It seemed like a ride into eternity, but it was only around the block. He would then purchase a couple of twin pops, break them in half and let us enjoy a nice treat on a hot city summer evening. Talk about an "officer friendly". The city has lost a wonderful person, and my heart is saddened to know that he has passed on, but he truly has left a smile on my face whenever I think about him. It was 40 years ago, but it left an impression as if it was only yesterday. Thanks, Mr. Mike, from all the kids on W. 23rd Street.

So sorry for your loss. Michael was a wonderful person. He always had a smile for everyone. I send our deepest condolences from myself and my family especially from my father and his brother John and James Finch who have know him since childhood and were in the old timers club with him.
