Paul Crowl Obituary

LITTLESTOWN Paul L. Crowl, 78, formerly of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret A. Hoffacker Crowl who died September 14, 2006. Born in Hanover on December 12, 1929, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Elizabeth Puhlman Crowl. Mr. Crowl retired from Utz Potato Chip Co. in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Broadway in Hanover, the Gideon Grange and the Hanover Barbershop Chorus. Surviving is a son, Tony E. Crowl and friend Tina Emery of Littlestown; two granddaughters, Sarah M. and Elizabeth A. Crowl; a brother, Donald Crowl of York; two step sisters, Violet Hummel and Irene Shorb both of Florida. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Robert, Merle, Dennis Crowl and a sister, Mary Caler. A funeral service to remember and celebrate his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1214 Broadway, Hanover. Viewing will be at the church Saturday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Burial will be private. The Rev. David L. DeLong will officiate. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1214 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331; or American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
