Robert Koontz Obituary
New Oxford - Robert T. Koontz, 83, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born December 19, 1934 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Irene (Warehime) Koontz.
Bob retired from Caterpillar in York with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church, New Oxford and the Eagles in Hanover. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending tractor pulls.
Surviving are five children, Judy Koontz of Littlestown, Tom Koontz and wife Vicki of Fayetteville, Tim Koontz and wife Jean of Hanover, Tony Koontz and wife Lisa of McSherrystown and Kelly Koontz of Salisbury, MD, nine grandchildren, Molly Sanders and husband Nick, A. J. Koontz and wife Katie, Rachael, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Anna, Kolton, Skylar and Carter Koontz, two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Caroline Sanders. He was preceded in death by a sister.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with Rev. Brian Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Relatives and friends will be received Friday from noon till the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Bob was always well liked at Caterpillar. Always friendly and always with a big smile. So sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

You won't know me, but I worked with Bob for over thirty years. He was a "Big Teady Bear". So likable, and friendly to all his fellow workers. I know he had to be the same around his outside Friends and Family. I'm sad to hear of His passing, but I'm sure he is in a place for all eternity. God be with his Family.
